WHAT AN ACTOR!!  Jim Carrey, is one of those actors - you can always find laughter in!!  My 'emergency' dvd collection, (as in ANY), should DEFINATLY- AT LEAST - have a Jim Carrey film or two!!  He is ONE of the great actors, who possesses the UNIQUE ability of making my dad, 'laugh until he cries!!'  He's played a 'Pet Detective,' 'an experiment,' a liar,' 'a multiple personality schizo,' & 'God,' (second to Morgan Freeman!!)  WHO oh WHO has a resume - like THAT?!?!?  As of lately, (the past few years), it seems through actions and off the cuff comments - Jim has seemed to have gone off the left way deep end!!  When you look at some of the pure shit he has endured - everything kinda comes into line..  What a BITCH it MUST have been having an X girlfriend accuse you of giving her STDs.. To your denial - then kills herself listing YOU as infirmity in her suicide note!  Isssh!!  Jim had a rep for being VERRY selective on what scripts he accepted in Hollywood.. It seems that has, sadly, gave way to disparity.. When you look at some of the films he's been in the last few years!!  His daughter, recently, auditioned to be THE Idol, of American!!  Before he exited stage left, & went off the deep end, becoming Grizzly Adams & his Twitter feed became rainbows & butterflies - he became a legend... Where kids imitated him, & wanted TO be in his mask.. & he became an advocate..

 

He has survived internet death, so impeccably!  He's a GREAT family man!!  THIS IS JIM CARREY!!  & without further ado - his story begins...

James Eugene Carrey, (mka Jim Carrey), was born January 17, 1962 - in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada... (A suburb of Toronto)...  Born into a Roman Catholic family, and is the youngest of four children.. (A brother, and 2 sisters)... Jim was off and running early on in life & 'took the 'bull by the horns,' thriving off entertaining people, usually through impressions!!

At age 10, Jim wrote a letter to Carol Burnett of the Carol Burnett Show - pointing out that he was already a master of impressions and should be considered for a role on the show; he was overjoyed when he received a form letter reply... Now HIS  reply's are almost ALWAYS form!! 😣  Form letters are an autograph collector's WORST FRIGGIN NIGHTMARE!!  Anyhoo...

He attended high school, here... WASSUP y'all?!?!?  Whilst living in amongst these condos...

 

In a 2007 interview, Jim recollected as a sophomore in high school, "If my career in show business hadn't panned out I would probably be working today in Hamilton, Ontario, at the Dofasco Steel Mill.  When looking across the Burlington Bay toward Hamilton, I could see the mills and thought, those were where the great jobs were."

Upon graduating, Jim set out to make history...  With the help of his family - he began performing stand-up in ANY club he could get booked..  Most of the shows early on - flopped!!  This caused uncertainty in Jim's mind..  However, just as the old saying goes, 'if at first you don't succeed - try, TRY AGAIN!'  Jim did!!  After a short break, due to family finances - Jim returned to stand-up to a new, rejuvenated routine - & a VERY receptive audience!!  In a short period of time, he went from open-mic nights to regular paid shows, building his reputation in the process. A reviewer in the Toronto Star raved that Carrey was, "a genuine star coming to life".

Eventually - his act caught the attention of legend,, Rodney Dangerfield!!  A HUGE ego boost for Jim!!  Rodney wanted to bring Jim to Las Vegas... At that however, Jim turned his attention to Hollywood, & declined the invite to Vegas!!  No doubt, in a note to Rodney, 'thanks for the boost of confidence in me - NO to Vegas!!  Rodney remained a HUGE fan, for the rest of his life!!

 

Jim moved to Hollywood, where he began performing at The Comedy Store (holding NOTHING back - just ask Comedy Store owner & legend, Pauly Sho-ore!), 👍 

 

In 1982, appeared on the televised stand-up show 'An Evening at the Improv..' And just a few months later - he debuted his act, on The Tonight Show, with Carson!  Despite his increasing popularity as a stand-up comic, Jim longed, secretly (they ALL do - let's face it), for the film and television industries...  In 1983 - he auditioned to be a cast member of SNL. Jim was not selected for the position, although he has hosted the show 3x since, (You could say they auditioned for him..😋)  Jim went back to stand up, until his passion would return in 1990, & he auditioned for a FOX television show called, 'In Living Color,'  (twas a satire show, similar to SNL), & this time - JIM GOT THE PART, and his engine to REAL super-startum, cranked up!!

From 1990-1994 - Jim was a regular cast member on the show 'In Living Color'... Fire Marshall Bill was my favorite..  👍

 

1994 turned out to be Jim's 'year to shine'.. He appeared in the lead roles in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask  and Dumb and Dumber.  The rest, as 'they' say is HIStory!  On to 'Batman Forever,' 'The Cable Guy' (which garnered him $20 mil)... CAAAAAAYYYYBBLLEEE GUUYYYYY!!!  Directed by legend, Ben Stiller...

Jim also starred in the music video of the film's closing song, "Leave Me Alone" by Jerry Cantrell.  For $20 mil - why the hell NOT!

As YOU KNOW - Jim would shoot off like a rocket from here - being VERY selective about the films he made!!  Even taking a 'pay cut' to do the film,  'The Truman Show'... Bless his heart!  'The Truman Show,' was undoubtedly, a commercial success also, grossing $264 million worldwide against a budget of $60 million..

In 2004 - Jim played the lead of Bruce, in legend Tom Shadyac's, Bruce Almighty, about a TV newsman who unexpectedly receives God's omnipotent abilities when the deity decides to take a vacation. The film received mixed reviews upon release, but despite this, still became a financial success, earning over $484 million worldwide, and going on to become the seventeenth highest-grossing live action comedy of all time.

CURRENTLY, he lives here, in Brentwood, beyond these gates, that, if it weren't for Google maps??  Would leave us wondering.. But with Google maps??  Wonder NO MO!!, WoW!!  Tennis courts ans all!  Very POSH!! ... He has made the Canadian Walk of Fame, eh??

Jim's looonng resume - shows a well shared talent & well deserved success!!  It seems for Jim??  Success is ONLY on the road ahead for him - Let's just hope he gets BACK on that road!!  That'd be a DEFINATE GREAT thing!! FoSho!! 👍
